Labriola, Gramsci e o materialismo histórico italiano.

Resumo: Segundo Gramsci, Antonio Labriola, no panorama do marxismo entre século XIX e XX, foi o único a conceber o marxismo como filosofia independente e original e a esforçar-se para “construir cientificamente” a “filosofia da práxis”. Para o intelectual da Sardenha, com o desenvolvimento das forças produtivas e a assunção, por partes do proletariado, de um papel dirigente, as posições primitivas e mecânicas do marxismo vulgar precisavam ser superadas. Nesse processo de maturação, Gramsci atribuía exatamente ao método filosófico de Labriola uma função central, até afirmar a exigência do seu predomínio entre as impostações do pensamento marxista italiano. Por isso, numa nota do Caderno 8, ele falou da tarefa de um estudo objetivo e sistemático sobre a dialética de Labriola, capaz de esclarecer o seu percurso intelectual “das suas originárias posições herberterianas e antihegelianas ao materialismo histórico”.

Labriola, Gramsci and the Italian historical materialism

Abstract: According to Gramsci, Antonio Labriola, in the scene of Marxism between the 19^th and the 20^th centuries, was the only one to conceive Marxism as an independent and original philosophy, and to endeavor to “build scientifically” the “philosophy of praxis”. For the Sardinian intellectual, with the development of the productive forces and the assumption, by parts of the proletariat, of a leading role, the primitive and mechanical positions of vulgar Marxism should be overcome. In his maturing process, Gramsci assigned precisely to Labriola’s philosophical method a central function, up to affirming the demand of its predominance among the Italian Marxist’s formulations. Because of that, in a note in Notebook 8, he wrote about the task of an objective and systematic study about Labriola’s dialectics, capable of explaining his intellectual course, since his initial Herbertian and anti-Hegelian positions up to historical materialism”.
