Resumo

Os estudos e análises feitos pela esquerda sobre a Unidade Popular concentraram sua atenção na superestrutura, silenciando a ação coletiva ou direta das classes populares e seus movimentos sociais. O processo revolucionário chileno enfrentaria uma dicotomia entre o “reformismo por cima”, impulsionado pelo governo de Allende, e a “revolução por baixo” dos movimentos socais. O movimento operário adquiriria uma importância fundamental ao ser considerado o sujeito histórico da revolução, mais ainda com o desenvolvimento dos cordões industriais. Estes se tornaram organismos de classe para o desenvolvimento da militância de esquerda, e o centrismo ajudaria a gerar uma consciência contraditória na classe trabalhadora, parte do fracasso da “revolução por baixo”.

Labor movement, industrial belts and people’s power: experience and classconsciousness during the Popular Unity

Abstract

The studies and analysis of the Popular Unity made by the left have turned their attention to the superstructure, silencing the direct or collective action of the working classes and their social movements. The Chilean revolutionary process would face a dichotomy between “reformism from above”driven by the Allende government and the “revolution from below” of the social movements. The labor movement would acquire a fundamental importance when considered as the historical subject of the revolution, even more with the development of the cordones industriales (industrial belts). These bodies became the class organs for the development of the left militancy, while centrism help generate a contradictory consciousness in the working class,part of the failure of the “revolution from below”.
