Por uma história materialista da cultura: revisitando os escritos de Walter Benjamin
Resumo: O presente artigo tem o objetivo de refletir sobre o conceito de história a fim de explicitar a tarefa do historiador materialista e o significado materialista da história da cultura. A base de análise são os escritos de Walter Benjamin. O artigo destaca a originalidade de um autor que, no contexto da sociedade europeia do início do século XX, levantou questões relevantes para uma história materialista da cultura. Para acentuar as relações entre arte, história e política, temos como base o ensaio Eduard Fuchs, der Sammler und der Historiker, publicado em 1938.

Por a materialistic history of culture: revisiting Walter Benjamin’s writings
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyze the concept of history in order to clarify the task of a materialist historian and the significance of a materialist and cultural history. The analytical basis is the writings of Walter Benjamin. The article highlights the originality of an author who, in the context of the European society of the early twentieth century, raised relevant questions for a materialist history of culture. In order to highlight the relationship between art, history and politics, we based ourselves on the essay Eduard Fuchs, der Sammler und der Historiker published in 1938.
