O que aconteceu com as primaveras árabes?
Resumo: Mais de cinco anos após o início das insurreições, conhecidas por Primavera Árabe, em diversos países do Oriente Médio, Nada Matta e Gilbert Achcar analisam algumas das questões mais importantes sobre esses processos revolucionários. Discutem o movimento das forças contrarrevolucionárias que, compostas pelos antigos regimes e por forças fundamentalistas islâmicas, reconquistaram a iniciativa política e agora estão violentamente competindo por controle. Exploram a ditadura no Egito e as guerras civis ocorreram na Síria, no Líbano e no Iêmen, com centenas de milhares de pessoas morreram e milhões foram deslocados. E projetam as possibilidades de uma revolução em longo prazo.

What happened to the Arab Spring?
Abstract: More than five year after the beginning of the uprisings, known as the Arab Spring, Nada Matta and Gilbert Achcar analyze some of the most important issues about these revolutionary processes. They debate the movement of the counterrevolutionary forces that, composed by the old regimes and Islamic fundamentalist forces, regained their political initiative and are now violently competing for control. They analyze the dictatorship in Egypt, and the civil wars in Syria, Lebanon and Yemen, where hundreds of thousands died and millions were displaced. And they project the possibilities of a revolution in the long term.
