Dilemas do anticapitalismo contemporâneo: Michael Löwy e o marxismo libertário
Resumo: Tomando como ponto de partida a recente publicação do livro Afinidades revolucionárias, de Michael Löwy e Olivier Besancenot, o objetivo deste artigo é lançar algumas hipóteses sobre a importância da questão libertária (em sentido amplo) na trajetória intelectual e política de Löwy, localizando-a em alguns momentos fundamentais do seu itinerário, desde a juventude paulistana até o “tempo-de-agora”, como diria Walter Benjamin, que é sempre o tempo do qual, gostemos ou não, visualizamos o passado. Trata-se, assim, de se visualizar – à luz do presente e sob o risco mais ou menos inevitável do “anacronismo” – a forma como tal questão, ou perspectiva, transformou-se ao longo do percurso intelectual de Michael Löwy, com destaque especial para a virada benjaminiana que, a partir do final dos anos 1970, impactou profundamente a sua interpretação do marxismo, estimulando-o a uma abertura teórica e temática tão profícua quanto polêmica.

Dilemmas of contemporary anti-capitalism: Michael Löwy and libertarian Marxism
Abstract: Taking as the starting point the recent publication of the book Revolutionary affinities, by Michael Löwy and Olivier Besancenot, the aim of this article is to suggest some hypotheses about the importance of the libertarian issue (in a broad sense) in Löwy’s trajectory. We situated it in some fundamental moments of his itinerary since his youth in the city of Sao Paulo up to the “here and now”, as would say Walter Benjamin, which is always the time from which, whether we like or not, we visualize the past. We have, therefore, to visualize – under the light of the present and under a more or less inevitable risk of “anachronism” – the way in which such an issue or perspective has been transformed along Michael Löwy’s intellectual trajectory. Especial emphasis was given to the Benjaminian turn that, since the end of the 1970s, has deeply impressed in his interpretation of Marxism, stimulating him to such an equally fruitful and polemical theoretical and thematic opening.
