Da música ao ruído: Shostakovich e o problema da emancipação feminina frente ao Grande Terror (1936)

Resumo: O artigo analisa a recepção crítica da ópera Lady Macbeth do Distrito de Mtzensky, de Dmitri Shostakovich, como um caso emblemático da repressão estética e política stalinistas, vinculado às leis antifeministas promulgadas pelo Partido Comunista durante o decênio de 1930. Deste modo, a censura à ópera é investigada como parte do reordenamento social, cultural e jurídico requeridos e efetivados para a construção do regime bonapartista soviético.

From music to noise: Shostakovich and the problem of the emancipation of women in the Big Terror (1936)

Abstract: This article analyzes the critical reception of the opera Lady Macbeth of Mtzensky District, by Dmitri Shostakovich, as an emblematic case of the Stalinist aesthetical and political repressive policy, linked to the anti-feminist laws enacted by the Communist Party during the 1930’s. Thus, censoring the opera is investigated as part of the social, cultural and legal reorganization required for the construction of the Soviet Bonapartist regime.
