A Revolução Russa e os deficientes
Resumo: O presente artigo de Keith Rosenthal discute a questão das deficiências na Revolução Russa. Compreendendo o período revolucionário como um momento de intensificação das lutas sociais, Rosenthal mostra como a questão das diferentes deficiências, físicas e mentais, mobilizou uma série de transformações de ordem política na Rússia durante a Primeira Guerra Mundial e como tais demandas foram incorporadas pelo Partido Bolchevique. Em última instância, questões que abrangiam a seguridade social, a prevenção de acidentes de trabalho, a finalidade das instituições totais de cunho psiquiátrico eram, dentre muitos, temas de debate e de proposição política no contexto revolucionário de 1917.

Disability and the Russian Revolution
Abstract:The following paper by Keith Rosenthal discusses the issue of disabilities during the Russian Revolution. Understanding the revolutionary period as a moment in which social struggles were intensified, Rosenthal shows us how the issues of different disabilities, physical and mental, mobilized a whole series of changes in Russian political order during the First World War, seeing how they were incorporated by the Bolsheviks. Ultimately, those issues ranged from social security, work injuries, the goals of total psychiatric institutions, and so on, all them being debated and theme of political propositions in the revolutionary context of 1917.
