Feminismo e neoliberalismo na América Latina
Resumo: Neste artigo, busca-se testar a hipótese de Nancy Fraser da existência de uma afinidade eletiva entre o feminismo e o neoliberalismo, tendo como referência as realidades materiais e culturais da América Latina, em especial a do Chile. O artigo argumenta que a emancipação feminista se vê envolvida com o projeto neoliberal, mas que este possui desdobramentos específicos e historicamente delimitados em cada contexto nacional. Explora-se a relação entre a busca das mulheres por emancipação na região e a regulação neoliberal, a partir das experiências dos feminismos latino-americanos. Esta abordagem busca a especificidade dos movimentos feministas na América Latina, suas características e dinâmicas compartilhadas, em contraposição à interpretação de que estes seriam formas derivadas das experiências norte-americanas.

Feminism and Neoliberalism in Latin America
Abstract: In this article we try to test Nancy Fraser’s hypothesis about the existence of an elective affinity between feminism and neoliberalism, having as a reference the material and cultural realities of Latin America, especially that of Chile. This article argues that the feminist emancipation is involved in the neoliberal project, but that it has specific and historically delimited consequences within each national context. We investigate the relation between the women’s search for emancipation in the region and the neoliberal regulation, based in the experiences of Latin American feminisms. This approach seeks the specificity of the Latin American feminist movements, their shared characteristics and dynamics, as opposed to the interpretation that they would be North-American-derived forms.
